Thanks for the kind word my friend. This 89' American standard was the axe I learned on. My Dad (who is a player as well) bought me this guitar as a birthday present in Jan. 89'. I learned on it , and I play it still to this day ! I have had countless pickup configurations in it over the years but I have had the pictured pups and control plate in it for a few years now and I guess it will stay as such. I never liked or used tone controls on a guitar so I just eliminated it all together. I like to send all the rich and full tone of the guitar to the amp as much as I can. A tone pot just gets in the way IMHO. I set the tone at the amp and let'r run ! I really love my old 89' ! She sounds and plays as good as she looks. I do all my own work/mods myself. It's more personal that way IMO.
Duncan Vintage P-90 in neck Rio Grande "Muy Grande" in bridge standard 3-way switching with 250 vol and NO TONE POT ! Works great for me ! |

Your Telly looks real nice and with that P/U configuration I bet it sounds powerful. Enjoy! |

Thanks for the warm welcome ! Yes..........my pickup configuration is very "lively & in your face ". I run a Fuchs Lucky 7 or my Orange Tiny Terror into a vintage Marshall 4x10 cab with a dab of analog delay for added seasoning and I am constantly complimented on my tone. VERY, VERY "ballsy" tone IMO.

Welcome to TDPRI WORM1595...i hope 1595 wasn't the year you was born. I love the guitar. To my everlasting shame i have to admit that i have yet to play a Tele with a p90 in the neck pocket. It's an interesting combination. I have a PRS with p90's and i love that.
