All is not well in the world.

I think that translates to...

"I want a Thinline and I said it out loud while the wife was around"

and She Said...
"You have enough guitars at the moment and you're NOT getting one!"

That's all I can make of it.

Maybe this Ferden Jackcaster qualifies as a Thinline. Originally it was a very heavy Korean copy. I hollowed it out from the back side and made plastic covers. The odd pickguard shape was required to cover all original screw holes. No touch-up painting was required

Thinline project in the making

Hi you all
I'm amazed. All these beauties, and a great lot made from scratch... congratulations to all of the makers.

I am going to make a thinline on my own - unfortunately I bought a warmoth strat neck, but anyway. My idea is to apply a maple or mountain pine cover to a maple sustain block/sides unit. Has anybody already heard of such a construction? If not, i'll be the first to post my efforts in this forum (well, I'll post it anyway!).

From what I was told, there were 200 - 250 made in 2006 and they were originally destined as an FSR to Japan. Deal fell through and Fender released them stateside. This is what the Fender rep told my retailer.

Very nice thinline though.

I've posted some pics of this one, but... since you asked for it...
Its body is made from an IKEA shelf, most of the hardware and the neck is from a 1960s Teisco, I fitted new no-name Kluson copies, and the tremolo arm was a window lever in a previous life. Saved that from the landfill.

I just sold this last week, the neck was too beefy for me, but it sounded sensational!
