62av ri surf green with binding just arrived

after waiting 11 hours for ups and they not showing up, i went down to the local ups center and picked it up. it is sweet, it smells new, it plays great, sounds great unplugged and plugged in. i already bonded more with this guitar than the nice nash tele i bought and quickly sold. for some reason as sweet as that tele was, it never felt like mine. the only problem with this guitar is the top hat was broken when it got here. i am sure it will be even better as days go by. i would post pics of it if i knew how. i am posting the link to the ebay page where i found her. 190113994834

Congrats! I've had mine since Jan '06 and I'm still in love....these are somewhat rare birds as well....I've never seen one hanging in a shop!

Much cooler IMHO than '52s....

Here's one of the eBay pictures. Although the color doesn't seem right, the seller did have an interesting way of displaying the guitar.

The sad part is that all I saw at first was the Tele.

the color is much more pale than i thought surf green was and that is a great thing. i was saddened by the fact when i opened the box, the woman was not included in there. it sounds so good through my bi comp into my 65 princeton reverb. i was just watching the vh1 rock honors when i first got it. it was fitting that zz top and heart were both using teles. i was sure i was going to have to replace the pickups, but i think they will work out just great. i had to put the switch have way inbetween the bridge and neck p/u's to here the both setting. wow. i hope it is just newness, but i think it sounds better than my nocaster with fred stuart pickups.

Mine's an...

Ice Blue Metallic but I wish I had a Surf Green one.........too.

Watch out for finish reactions with other materials...don't let it sit in a guitar stand that has foam rubber padding...it'll react with the laquer.

Hey, there is no switch tip on that Telecaster!

I'm surprised no one noticed...

Congrats!

I'd be willing to bet that the seller has some very interesting pictures in his private collection.

I use of of Fender's mini stands with my Ice Blue....no reaction and it's been about a year....I read somewhere before i got it that those particular stands do not react with nitro....anyone else use one?
