Would it be gauche to use this body?

Japan-made Fender body. Here's the back view. The thing I'm unsettled about is the noticeable seam where the two pieces join. On the front with the guard and control plate on it won't be apparent. The upside, most of all is that it's 3lbs 14 oz. Not nitro though. I'm having a vanity crisis, but it's under $150.

I would be fine with it. If it really bothers you, you could paint it a solid color, maybe even a sunburst would hide the seam.

The edges are 3/8 roundover instead of 1/8 like vintage. If you are looking to build a 50's style, that would preclude me from using it. I wouldn't be all THAT concerned about the seam. It is just aesthetics,

IMO that's being a bit anal... On almost ALL of the natural finish tele bodies I've seen you can see where the wood was joined together. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Like the others have said, the only way to get around it is to paint/buy a solid color body.

Gauche? Ha!

Okay, look at the suits worn by a couple of very famous TELECASTER players:

Even at Carnegie Hall:

NOW tell me you're worried about the visible seam on the BACK of your Tele body. -LOL- (Hee. Just kiddin' w/ya... ) :-) CS

OK thanks for all the feedback on this. I knew I was going to get some flack for posting such a trivial issue but I had to hear it. Turns out my problem was solved for me because I got outbid. So I'm going to move on and keep up the hunt for another body. Thanks to all for not beating me up too bad...
