Will a New replacement Tele Pickguard Fit my 68 Tele?

The original pickguard on my '68 has "shrunk" and a couple of the holes have broken through. I want to buy a replacement pickguard and store the original one.

Question: Will a New Fender "8-hole, 3 ply, parchment" pickguard fit my '68?

The pickguard I'm looking at is Fender part number: 0991375000 Any info is appreciated. thanx

I don't know of a way to cross reference that number. But a new 8 hole pickguard should fit. The holes might not line up exactly, but it'll probably be close enough that you can stretch the holes in the new pickguard. Sometimes holes are in slightly different places on aftermarket pickguards. The GFS pickguard I put on my '69 Tele, the holes were very close.

why not just cut your own so you know it will fit and all the holes will be in the right spots?

I compared a Warmoth pickguard to an autocad drawing that tdpri-er Ed Hawley made of his 66 Tele pickguard and it was accurate within the width of a pencil line. I think two of the holes were off by just a little bit more than that.

I'd say you're safe with the Fender guard.

A Fender pickguard should fit.
