I think the answer will be obvious around these parts.

Either would be great. I played a sunburst Highway 1 Tele recently that was hard to put down!

Get the Strat if you already have a Tele-type guitar. Just my view.

My opinion is that you should play both and get the one you like most. You should also play multiple copies of each if you can.

FWIW: I have both Strat and Tele, and my time seems evenly split between dreadnought and Tele. Playing several instruments made my purchase much easier because it was clear when I found a winner.

Good luck.

from what i see, fender puts more of an opaque shade on the teles than the strats.. which sucks. my freinds crimson blue strat is beautiful, the grain pops out at your eye, as opposed to my blonde highway which has the slightest signs of transparency.

also think about what you need- a tremolo... neck shapes.. headstock mass.. etc..

i already have the tele so for me it would be the strat.

it seems to be the general opinion that they are both fantastic, and i totally i agree. my HW1 strat is probably the best sounding guitar i have played (w/ CS 69 pups mind you).

so, basically, if you want a strat, get the strat. if you want the tele.......

they are perfect workhorse examples of both guitars. all you get f0r paying above these models is either a crappier guitar (am. standard...), or more weight consistency/bragging rights (CS).
