What, is any, are the differences in the tuners used on American reissues and MIJ reissues, particularly the '62 Tele Custom.

I don't exactly know the difference but I recently replaced my MIJ 62RI Cust. with these and they fit perfectly... I was concerned that the tuner holes would be a different size but they fit

You'll have to use the bushings that come with the new set... At least I did. They are pretty easy to get out - they are a press fitting. (you push out the old ones and push in the new bushings) Good luck! Hey, you're a stone's throw from me too being in Oak Park! I'm in Lincoln Park
