Polish? Wax?
I just got a 2005 AV52RI with the nitro-cellulose finish. When I'm done playing the area of the body where my right forearm rests needs to be buffed because it's not shiny anymore, but when I try to buff it with a guitar polishing cloth it won't shine up. If I push harder it looks like I "scratch" the finish. I tried spraying some guitar polish on it but it still won't shine up. I've heard some use McGuire's auto wax, but I need to know what's best for an AV52RI.

I have very good experience with Dunlop 65 "Cream Of Carnauba" Bodygloss.
http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?p...ts/maintenance Besides giving the guitar a high gloss, it also hides scratches and cracks. (I have the same guitar as you). Well worth trying. |

I've always used Martins Guitar Wax in the spray bottle. A little goes a long way and if it's good enough for a 3-4K Martin it's good enough for my axes.
