Kinman Pick Ups

Has anyone tried these pups from Australia?

Pricey, but Guitar Player gave them good reviews for the Strat models. They also have Tele models. Supposedly true humbuckers, yet still very faithful to original tones.....

On the way....

I ordered a set of Broadcaster pickups from Kinman on March 30th, 07. They say about 4 weeks on shipping them DHL, so I am still waiting. I have talked with Steve Kinman a few times via e-mail, and he is a very nice guy. I know he dosen't over or under wind them because of the balance between the coils. Apparently the bottom coil is what cancels the noise of the top coil, so it is a fine balance that cannot be altered without adding noise. They are very technical! I just wish it didn't take so long to get them. I do LOVE the fact that the pickups look like vintage tele pickups. I have Bardens, and that is one thing I really miss.
Hopefully I can give an opinion soon, but according to what I've researched, they seem to be killer!

scarb.....waiting.......

I've got a set of "AVn-60's Custom" in my '62 Custom RI Tele. I'm very happy with them - airy and great dynamics. I can strongly recommend them.

No affiliation whatsoever with the manufacturer, just a satisfied customer.
