Squire Fat Tele price check/info

Hey guys. There is a Squire Fat Tele for sale locally. It's blonde with a rosewood neck. I don't know much about Squire models, so hopefully that is enough info for someone to know what it is. They are asking $200 CDN for it. Is that a decent asking price?

Thanks

They were available new for $200 USD, if that helps. I think they were the "Standard" with the neck HB. Not an Affinity model.

If it's not affinity it's well worth it, believe me I have one. If you get it though you'll have to do some setting up.

Here is a photo of it:

I am not the best negotiater hah, so I was just trying to figure out if it was worth trying to talk the guy down or if it's already a good price. I rarely make it to guitar stores, so I don't know much about new prices on Squires.

Here is one of the headstock, but I can't make out what it says under Telecaster.

The last street price for the Squier Fat Telecaster was $229 according to Musicians Friend. However it appears they have been discontinued. You can always go to Musicians Friend, Music 123, ZZounds or other online stores to find the new price of guitars. They're all pretty much the same .......... usually 30% off list.

I think below Telecaster it says ....... "Standard Series".

Small photos, but it looks clean.

MF and others had them at $229 originally, then $200, then gone.

$200 CDN = about $177 USD? I'd go for it.

+1.

I wanted one as well, but they were discontinued before I'd saved up the money.

I may have missed out on this one, but I am going to contact the guy. It's in the same town I take my amps to get serviced, and I meant to go check out the guitar while dropping off an amp on the weekend. I won't be able to take the amp in till tomorrow though.

On the bright side, if it IS still for sale he might take less for it since it's been up for awhile.

Just make sure he isn't trying to sell you a Telecaster SH. It's the same pup configuration (the neck might be different - I'm not sure), but it goes for $100 more.

They would be more then that in Canadian stores then. So $200 CDN isn't a bad price. It's a colour I really like too.

It's still available, and I am going to look at it tomorrow. As long as I like the neck, I think I will likely take it.

i searched and they are still avail....i actually have a modded-to-fat Affinity....and it's so nice it's still NOT for sale.

what was funny is that Guitar center is selling Sq FAT TETE bridge pups, new, for $10........does that seem just too weird? It does to me.

I picked up the guitar! I like it a lot. While it needs a few parts upgrades it sounds good stock.

This is the first Tele I have owned with a neck humbucker, and man that middle position sounds amazing. I didn't know what I was missing out on. Even with the mediocre pickups, I love the tone in that position.
