Squier Telecaster news from Frankfurt

As you guys might know this week the Europe version of the NAMM is taking place at Frankfurt Germany. And today I attended.

One of the first stands I visited was the one from Fender and the Squier devision has some really cool new axes added to their list. They are so new that they aren't even mentioned on the Fender site yet.

First of all, the Vintage modified series has been expanded with a Thinline Tele that comes in a really classy shorline gold. Then there's the Deryck Whibley (Sum41) signature tele, which is a tele deluxe with a strat neck and a sole bridge humbucker.

Whibley with an all white prototype of his signature Squier Tele

Further Squier telecaster news came from the low end of business with the Mike Dirnt signature Telecaster bass. Which looks exactly like the Fender Version but for a whole lot less dough.

Finally (and i think it's the coolest one of them all.) there's the 72 Telecaster bass, complete with the wide range humbucker, through body stringing and two saddle bridge, it comes in three tone sunburst with a black three ply pickguard. It oozes MOJO and I can't wait until those will be hitting the stores.

Holy crap. If those Dirnt basses are worth a damn I'd pick one up at the drop of a hat.

Man, Squire is really starting to make some pretty interesting new guitars. Personally i think the Squire '51 is one of the best cheepo guitars i've ever owned...

Any pictures of that Shoreline Gold Thinline?

Those Mike Dirnt basses always seemed interesting to me... And now they'll be making a cheaper version. Crap.
