Anybody Tried a Dillon Crystal Series Tele Style?

A new dealership just getting underway is an authorized Dillon dealer. They say they can get me one of those lucite Tele style guitars of which 4 to 8 are made each year. Here 'tis.

Problem is:
I ain't never played one and do not have a clue where to go and find one to play. And I have a thing about buying guitars I have not held in my sweaty little hands. These do look Cool but that don't mean it plays or sounds worth a darn.

Anyone ever tired a Dillon Crystal Series guitar.

I think I'd buy it, even without playing it.

Did they say how much they'd want for it? I think Ole Fuzzy was saying he'd want one.

Suggested retail is just under $1,000 on that model (not sure if I am allowed to post the exact price here). Not sure how much room the dealers have to play with.

I wonder how thick they are and how much they weigh? Buy it and you can answer my questions.

Got to be heavy, the strat that fender built years ago was double the weight of a stock one.

I'm guessing that it's less than $800 then.

Sure is cool looking. Weight would probably be a stumbling block that keep me from using it for a main guitar.

When I was looking for a dealer to buy a Dillion '58 Jr. from, John was telling me that he had a few of the clear '58 Jr's. coming through, but I said I just couldn't do the heavy guitars. Kind of wanted one though.
