Tadeo Gomez pic

This is from cfh's website. I found it interesting to see the singature in Tadeo's license. You can see the similarity of the script G to those found in early teles. And also you can see the similiarity of Tad which is occasionally seen as well.

I am surprised he did not sign his drivers license with just "T.G", and the date.

I can tell you this - Tadeo was a great man (as we all know) but his son needs to learn some manners Nacho and I conversed a bit and I tracked Tadeo's son down at his office in La Habra and Nacho kindly agreed to send him a BG book. Not a word after delivery...hmmm.

I got the sense that maybe his son got money-minded and a bit pissed off after discovering his dad's wood work had become so valuable. The article says he didn't keep the Fender stuff his dad had brought home. Can you imagine some of the "seconds" - both strats and teles - Tadeo might have come home with? What that stuff might be worth today?

book to Ben Gomez

just for the record after a few weeks had passed without hearing from the book recipients I found a very kind thankyou message from Ben Gomez at my office (he called in the middle of the night) answering machine, he was so happy and delighted to see his fathers work portraited and he really appreciate the gift! He sounded like a very well mannered, nice character humble man. His message was mixed spoken in english and spanish
