My new cool Tele!
I've actually been involved in a big sell off of guitars lately, having recently sold about 5 guitars including my real deal '72. Yeah, I know I know. But putting braces on one kid and sending another to college was just helping the rats get further ahead. I had a number of guitars that weren't being played much and an infusion of cash became far more important. I'm not pleading poverty, but life can sure be interesting these days.
So if 5 or 6 go then I have to be able to bring at least 1 into the fold, right? I had been interested in these guitars when they were being discussed on the board over a year ago. Nitro Tone Music in Cambridge, MA went to Fender Japan and had 12 made with maple necks and 12 with rosewood boards and matching headstock. Our brother csapo snagged a maple neck model and I would've done the same if I'd bought one new. Since I had so many other guitars though I opted out, something I later kinda regretted. Well goodbye regret. Just as I sell off these other guitars along comes one of these beauties, and I must admit I like it better with rosewood (very odd for me) and I love the headstock. See what you think! ![]() ![]() The finish, of course, is Capri Orange from the infamous International Colors series of 1981. The body is ash and the guitar weighs a very comfy 7 1/4 pounds. Stock pickups were American Vintage, aka '52 RI. The guitar feels great and sounds great and this one even came with a nice molded American case. All in all I couldn't be happier! And yes, I now have 3 Teles, all orange.

There's something about an orange guitar that is just a little louder than all other guitars. That one is great!

I'm sure college costa a lot, but here in Sweden.....
education is free.
But before you get ready to move consider this. I moved here from Wheaton, IL 32 years ago. I have 3 teenagers 16, 18 and 19. Jeans cost (at least the jeans my kids want to wear) $150 - $200. Go figure what you can buy instead of 3 new pair of jeans. Craig |

![]() The middle guitar with the blackguard in the picture above that "looks kinda familiar" is my numero uno, the best Tele I have ever owned or played. It's a '94 Custom Shop Jerry Donahue Tele that I've had refinished by USA Custom Guitars. The single ply beveled guard was cut by my friend Wendy at WD. When I go somewhere with only one guitar, that's the guitar that goes!

Thank's Mike...I think that one of the reasons that I haven't really posted pic's my my guitars is cause once I start it will be hard to stop. Plus it's time consuming and I don't have alot of that this time of year. I'll have to take the Alverez out for a spin tonight...I really like the neck HB and Coil Tap. But if the TE-2 comes today all plans will be put on HOLD. THanks buddy.

Nice Score!
Love orange guitars - nice to see that Gretsch no longer has the market cornered. Been going through the same thing as you with selling guitars. Matter of fact, got one heading down to Austin for the guitar show which will hopefuly fill my pockets with some loose change. But yeah, a new one (new to me that is) has also somehow managed to crawl into my hands. Funny how that works, ain't it?

Orange Teles. In theory they don't sound like anything I would like. But to see it...I like it. I would probably go with a black guard. Or as someone said, a pearly white one.
And the confed flag on the Dukes of Hazard tele...that would really make it complete!
