I remember hearing you define that "Surf meets a crooning lead vocal style" that's rubbed off on me, and I'm sure, an entire generation of players.

I also stole a joke from you ...

I remember you playing a baritone guitar in the back of Brawers guitar shop one San Francisco day, and you started playing Stairway to Heaven on it. It was so exotic and weird sounding it cracked everybody up. It's always the first thing I'll play on a baritone ever since.
Thanks again for your nice comments -Jim
Hey Jim & Jimmy!

Plenty o' twang going on between you two, fer sher.

Was that club on Haight called "Nightbreak"??

I remember seeing Jimmy play there a bunch in the early/mid '80's.

Weelie- It was great to see that guitar again.
A not so funny story ...
A woman who bought a birthday guitar for her son saw what I signed on your guitar and asked me to do the same. I was so sleep deprived and half out of my mind from exhaustion I signed her guitar in indelible ink and somehow misspelled "Approved" ! I've never been so embarrassed in my life and there was nothing I could do ! ... nothing she could do either. Maybe I should have signed it from "DUMMY"!

So... I'm off to do it again. I'll be in Finland over the weekend but before I take off I wanted to thank everyone for the thrill of this thread. It was really great and exciting.

Anyway -I'll be back on the TDPRI in no time - Jim

Oh, so THAT'S why you asked me how to spell "approved"! But hey, tele players never were traditionalists when it comes to spelling, look at the way Fuzzy or Redd spells etc. My bad, it was my idea to have the lack of string holes to be aprroved by you.

Enjoy your travels, and may it bring you some new friends and new songs for your next album. :)
