Albert Collins getting his B3 and Leslie stolen from his truck as an up & coming Jack McDuff/Jimmy McGriff disciple. The rest is history

I have a good and bad tele moment for myself personally....the first was when I got my first tele....an american standard in the early 90's ....I traded a used gibson les paul for it plus some cash......I was totally ripped off price wize..but didn't know any better at the time.......

my good story is...that even though I got rid of that american standard..........I've always wanted a 52 reissue.....and I got one now...at a good price......and it's stuck with me..........

I now have two guitars that I honestly feel like I'll hang onto the rest of my life to give to my kids when I'm gone......my es-347 I bought when I was 19.....and my 52 reissue tele.....those are keepers for me!!!!!

maybe not the greatest moment but a memorable one....

How about the clip in the "Blues Brothers" where the whole band are in the music store, and out of a whole rack of flashy guitars, Steve Cropper picks out a battered Tele.

I guess I was inspired into this one by just having Booker T and the MGs playing earlier this evening....

But I agree, Luther Perkisn joining Johnny Cash with a Tele is ideed one of the greatest moments in Tele history!
ANother one:
Jimmy Bryant joining Speedy West, as one of the first Tele players live on stage ever.
Luther only played a Jazzmaster from 1959 to 1961, and a Jag from 1961-1963 and then back to Esquires. At live a Folsom prison he played a '63 3-tone sunburst custom wired Esquire.

Same here. Only for me it was the "Rainy Night in Georgia" intro. And it took three or four days for me to buy the tele.

it was actually reggie young who played on the studio/hit version... recorded july 5th 1967 in memphis at american studios... and he mainly played a gibson ES-345 stereo in those days... tj

The greatest moment in Tele history is when Leo was born.

Don't you think the greatest of all moments was when Gretsch claimed and Fender changed the "Broadcaster" name to "Telecaster" ?
