Todd Barth instructional video
I just got the Johnny Hiland and Scotty Anderson Hot Licks videos and while they are both great musicians, the videos don't really provide much useful instruction...at least not to me. There seems to be only one rule at Hot Licks..DON'T DO ANY PREPARATION FOR YOUR VIDEO SHOOT!!! I will never buy another Hot Licks video.
They should take a hint from Joe Dalton, who actually provides some instruction in a manner it can be understood and used by the student. I have another video featuring a guy named Todd Barth. He has obviously put some thought and preparation into his presentation. I learned a lot from this video. This guy is a great tele picker and he teaches some licks you can use on the bandstand. I highly recommend this one: Todd Barth, Smokin' Country Guitar, Musician's Workshop, P.O. Box 49507, Austin, TX 78765.

Glad to hear it... I've not seen the video, but Todd is no doubt a gifted player. He was in my class at GIT in '84-'85, and had a band at school with Jimmy Herring. At the time, Todd was way into Albert Lee, & Jimmy sounded exactly like Steve Morse. It was pretty obvious both those guys would go on to do great things.
