first post here!

I read a much earlier post about the MIM standards being already factory routed for a humbucker. Is this true? I know I could take out a screwdriver & find out in a few minutes but darn it, I *just* changed strings yesterday!

As much as I like my 2000 burgundy MIM standard, I'm looking for a way to make it a little less generic, if not a neck bucker then maybe I could age the pickguard. Or do something about the pale maple neck without screwing up the headstock logo... Either that or piss off the wife and just get that bound 62 reissue I really want!

BTW, from what I have seen so far this is the most mature and enjoyable guitar forum I've seen.. I like NIN as well as Danny Gatton, but I can only take so much macho blather from the pointy headstock types...

Another fun and fairly cheap trick to do with one of those Norwegian, uh, I mean Mexican Standard Teles is swap the bridge for vintage 3-barrel bridge.

Not only does it make the guitar sound more like a Telecaster, but they look cool too!
