3 pup tele, what gives?
Anyone ever play one of those 3 pup teles (MIM) with fender noiseless pups. The one I found that sounds and plays like a strat. Are those pups stock? How come they're not advertised at the fender web site?

Not sure you've got the right guitar
Fender did (may still, in fact) make a three pickup Tele, with strat switching and noiseless pickups. It was called the Deluxe and had a contoured body. The only MIM tele with tree pickups (and they are Tex-Mex) is the Deluxe Nashville Tele. Before the Fender Noiseless pickups, Fender used Lace Sensors in a similar guitar that was made for only a a few years. Don't know if this is confusing things more for you, but perhaps someone else can elaborate a bit more.

Oskar, you nailed it!
I have both. The `98 has 3 noiseless pups, body binding, ash body, see-thru finish, deluxe hdwe 5-way SS w/ mini-toggle and MOP dot position markers....sweeeet, and USA the other is a deluxe series MIM, and just like you said.... I think it's the best non-USA made Fender......IMHO.
