Is Jim Weider the same guitarist

who played on one of Eric Burden and and Animals' double albums? I may have the name wrong, but as I recall I think it's the same. I noticed he's played with Butterfield, so I thought perhaps it might be the same one. Thanks.

and he replaces Robbie Robertson in The Band plus he also plays with his own band called The Honky Tonk Gurus. I'm not sure about the artists you mention.

and notice he did replace Robbie Robertson, etc. I didn't see a place where I could e-mail him and ask him about it. I could be wrong, I don't have the albums with me, but in the late 60s, just before Eric Burden left to form War, he did a few pretty interesting and experimental type of albums, and I recall a Jim Weider playing guitar. Could be someone else.

I'm a big fan of Jim Weiders. He a GREAT Tele guy, has some cool VHS tapes, "Classic Fender Sound" etc etc. Don't know if we was on the CD you mentioned. E-mail him through his sight and or he's been known to read these posts. You may get an answer directly from him.

... when it first came out and watched it every so often. I put it in the VCR the other night and... horrors, it was eaten! I immediately went to the Homespun website and tried to find out if it was due to be re-released on DVD. I received a nice response indicating it would indeed be available on DVD in October. I have his rockabilly tapes also but never really worked through them. He's a fine player who obviously loves the gear and the music. Come on October!

A Fender 59ri Bassman... looks like it went thru a war! Sounds pretty good though... it's being sold for him by Analog Mike.
