Rice Custom Guitars B Bender tele... oh my!

I went surfing to www.RiceCustomGuitars.com - a man can dream, you know - and came across their B Bender proto. I don't know if you guys have already talked about this guitar as I have been swamped with work for a while, but I felt the need to talk about it here. What a beautiful guitar!

Here's the linky.

I'll try and post pics:

They have many more pics on their site, so don't hesitate to click on the link and feast your eyes!

I was noticing that one a couple days ago. Seems to be an Esquier Bender.

Kind of interesting that there's no string ferrule for the B string.

that is a neat touch. Sort of shows that guitar was planned from day one to be a bender.

Got to love it when a plan falls together.

Just think of all of the lonely B string ferrules the world over that have nothing to do after a bender has been installed. A huge waste of a precious resource if you ask me.

With those guys making the guitar, I pretty much have faith that there was a good plan at the genesis of the project

As a rule, I try to avoid the Rices website. Too much eye candy. Man, I am a sucker for a white Tele.

Just wondering how can the Rice guys use the traditional Telecaster headstock whilst people like GVCG and other builders have gotten hell from Fender because of it and now have to use some self designed headstock shape???

It's beautiful! And I want a b-bender someday. Anyone know the difference between Rice's bender and a Parsons/Green bender? They look similar, and I like the clear backplate so you can show off the mechanism.

It's a Parsons White STYLE.. bender components made by Bill Bores (Steelbender Innovations)..

I have a black 50's MIM Esquire I installed the same bender in. I'm not using it (since I have others) I will likely put it up for sale on ebay or the TDPRI Garage Sale soon... Mine has a Long Throw Bender and plays flawlessly.

I had it converted to a Tele for awhile but's it's back stock to an Esquire right now..

Chris, that one is stunning. I loved all the pics you sent me of this guitar. I wasn't going to post them as I wasn't sure whether you wanted them on the net already or not.

Just stunning!

Here's another bender I've been working on... Sort of an experimental finish, but I like it so far..

Truth be told, I want one. The plan is to build three, sell two, and keep the last one for my own. Since I don't know which ones will sell, I have to make sure I love them all...

I'm having so much fun with these that I'd like to just keep on building more. I'm designing a similar mechanism with different bearings, and have really gone over the deep end with benders lately. They have allowed this old dog to learn some new tricks.

Are the benders long or standard throw length?

Guitars look great!

They are Bill Bores' Classic benders, standard length.

My comment about "new tricks" was referring to my playing style, not building...

Thank you for the compliment!
