'72 Deluxe
I've been thinking of getting (sometime in the future) a '72 Deluxe Tele Reissue. I've playe done and it was great. Just wondering what opinions are out there (most everything I hear is good).

The tele deluxe reissue is a nice rock n roll guitar. The 2 humbuckers will give you more of a LesPaul sound than a telecaster. I would suggest you immediately change out the 250K pots for 500Ks. That will open up the pups and you'll get much more clear, clean sounds--more like a tele. But you will still be able to get distortion and sustain for hard rock.
Just my opinion. Joe. |

...Well yew won't hear all good from me but my opinion iss based on the axe-shoe-al 72 and 73 wons.
...They were purdy but did knott produce that TELECASTER twang that I luv sew much. ...Very good TELECASTERs and very purdy but like the Thinline II had a very specific tone and sound. ...Although there waz nuttin rong with em I dent care fer the "Micro-tilt" (three-bolt) or the bullet head truss rod adjust-mint inna face of the headstock. ![]() ![]() ![]() (deranged internet-based alter ego, with my own lexicon and all.) If it didn't have that big ole headstock, the Deluxe would look something like this.
