I think the pickups sound good, and the ones I've played have been quality guitars, but it's not my cup of tea. I'm really *way* over the strat quack, which seems to be the only thing this Tele offers that a regular Tele doesn't. Of course, lots of folks like that sound...to each his or her own.

Forget the quack...
But by moving one wire you'll have one quack position, one Strat position and all 3 tele positions. And the more you mod, the more you'll want to mod some more! Which is why the Nashville is a great platform for modding (and learning).

Just got one. While the quality of the paintjob is not so hot, and I had to fix the ground for the bridge... I absolutely love this damn guitar!
I will agree it is not 100% strat. It isn't as springy as a strat is (of course, there aren't any springs attached to these strings) so it play more straight forward. The middle pickup does sound very strat like. The middle and neck sound very strat like. The neck is so much cleaner (amybe that's not the right description, but that's the first word that popped into my head) than a strat and the bridge is just downright twangier than a strat. so it gives a bit of a hybrid in the bridge/middle position. I had to do a good setup on it, changed strings to slinky bottom, heavy tops and adjusted the action so it's pretty damn low, then set the intonation and fixed the ground. After all that it plays as well as any guitar I've owned and sounds fantastic. It's a blast. I absolutley love it...oh, did I mention I like it a lot? Although the toroise shell pickguard on metallic red is ugly. Gonna change that out pretty soon. soon as I get on of those nice aged gold pearl pickguards... And the price was right! Good luck,

I bought one about 6 months ago,not for the strat/tele style, but because I wanted the Honey Blonde color tele. My intentions were to throw the middle pup out, change the pickguard and wire it like a 2 pup tele. Once I got it and played it for a few days and decided to leave it like it was. Being that I play in a band that plays mostly country music,we have to mix it up a little bit with some old rock, blues and beach, and yes you can do it with a 2 pup tele, but the middle pup gave me a different option at times. what I wound up doing is leaving it like it was, done away with the 5 way switch, installed a 4 way, wired it like a reg tele with the extra n/b in series, replaced the tone pot with a push pull pot to turn the middle pup on when prefered. Oh, i did change the pups to Seymour Duncans, the ones in it sounded fine,I just prefered the SD's. Everything else about the tele is great, mine has an excellent finish, neck feels good. One of the other band members just bought the HWY1 tele,my Nashville looks a lot better in Quality,he even said so hisself. I prefer American made stuff, but not always can you have a choice on some things. I will say the Nashvilles,50's and the Esquires that are MIM are just as good as the MIA ones and the standards that are MIM are not bad either.

I like mine... I have been playing it most of the time lately. I like the stock pickups... neck with the tone wide open, bridge with the treble rolled off a bit and I use the Bridge and middle pretty often. I never use the middle only or the neck and middle. I wish it had a neck and bridge position but I haven't done anything about that yet. All that said I really don't care for strats and I don't compare it to one.
