thanks very much. Yes the Muddy came that way. They made a limited run of ...I think it was 12. Beautiful tele though I`m sure it offends some you know being an un-natural relic and all but...it plays so nice I had to buy it.

Here's mine!

A pretty close to mint 1994 MIJ Rosewood Tele with a one-piece body (that is, it was one piece before it was cut to four pieces making the hollowed-out and bookmatched, sandwiched body halves. That's why I paid a bit more than average, $1900).
My No.1 guitar, sounds and plays great!

jazzguitar ............. that's a beauty. I've never see such straight grain on one of the Japanese solid rosewoods. I've also never seen one made from one piece of wood. Most are made from six separate pieces plus the maple sandwiched between the front and back. I'd really like to see a picture of the butt end showing the end grain.

More pictures !

Thanks for the compliments, jwells393 !
  • Here my Tele is on stage, Oct. 2006 (click image for full size!)

And ugly me playing it !

Here's the side, see how the grain continues on the other side of the maple layer!
    Serial number is A070809 ...

And the body back, highlighting the bookmatch:

Those pictures with the red background are from the original
eBay auction, "katana guitars" I think. I just had to buy this!

It's a bit heavy at 9lbs but with that wide cloth strap no problem, and most Les Pauls are as heavy.

One more ....

Here's a pic from a Jazz Masterclass I attended last summer, showing the French master Nguyen Le testing my Tele.

When I told him the guitar had hollow cavities, he said "Ah, that's why. I noticed it has some acoustic resonance!"

Unbelievable guy, a must listen to if you like weird music!
