New "Pimp Daddy" Tele pics

Hi Guys,
I usually like my guitars kind of plain. I had a real nice PRS McCarty with a killer top on it that I sold because it looked too "pretty" (and it sounded like crap...IMHO). Anyway, I posted about the guitar in the pics below the other day when it came on ebay. A few people gave me their opinions and then the guy selling it got sellers remorse and pulled his auction. So...long story short, I ended up buying it. Though I don't care for glitzy guitars I have to admit this guitar it so beautiful I can't quit looking at it. It should be here in a few days! It has a 50th Anniversary sticker on the back of the headstock, so I'm guessing it's a '96. The owner said he got it in '97. Has anyone seen one of these before? I haven't even seen a case quite like this with the flat logo. It looks like a Merle Tele but it's a bolt on neck. Any info would be appreciated.
Rick

I really like it, but you should know, all the parts that should be on the left hand side are on the right, and vice versa, it's like they made it BACKWARDS. Might be hard to play! Maybe the notes on the low frets are high and the ones near the body are low even, who knows, it's like a bizarro Tele.

Yeah just kidding around, but i DO love the look, and I also am NOT into fancy guitars or flame tops or anything whatsoever normally.

Thanks guys! I figured out the left handed part pretty quick..All the other leftys on this page can attest to how hard it is to find a nice Tele that isn't black or sunburst (not that there's anything wrong with those colors). For some reason Fender paints about 95% of their American made left handed guitars black. The original owner swears he bought the guitar new from a store just like it is, but I've looked all over the web and can't find another guitar like this one. It has MOTS binding on the top to match the pickguard and tuner buttons. I remember Fender Japan did some MOTS bound Teles in the 90's. When I get the guitar I'm going to take it all apart and check it out. I only paid $700 and I figure I couldn't have built one myself for any less, so what the heck..I really like the case too.

If you can't play left handed you can sell it to me. That guitar is sure to get some attention. Not to brag, but I can play both right and left handed. Never had to practice left-handed, I'm oddly ambidextorous.

Its kind of like knowing how do drive a stick-shift, it opens up more options for what you can get.

Hey Badkarma,
Luckily, I'm a lefty. I can play right handed pretty good too. When you're a lefty you have to learn a little right handed or you never get to try out any cool guitars! I still can't find any other Teles like this one on the net??
