I missed that...

Went back and read the text. Now I understand why it's so cheap!

New finish on the body, rewound neck pickup, replaced volume pot, new caps, new bridge, new saddles...

56 tele, replaced pickup, added bigsby. routed out for p-90,all for only 20 grand. For that price that sucker should be clean enough to eat off of.

I'd pay $25,000 for that before I'd buy the fake Clapton Blackie for the same price though!

I don't know -- I guess we'll find out whether it's "worth it" or not when somebody "buys it" or not. seems like an awful lot of money to me. but maybe if I had a lot more money, it wouldn't seem so bad. Lots of people don't mind spending $30,000 or more on a car these days, and the one thing you can say about a car is that it will be worth nothing in ten years. I guess I'd rather have that '52 tele, a 1937 National and a Subaru station wagon than a Lexus SUV. Each is about the same price, but in ten years the Tele and the National will almost certainly have held their own, while both of the cars will be junk.

I am putting my money where my mouth is, to the extent that I have any money. I have four or five old, nice guitars, and I drive a ten-year-old Explorer with 132,000 miles on it.

As the owner of a refinished 52 tele, with the original bridge, I would be ecstatic if that guitar sells for 25K .
