Questions for 3 saddle bridge experts...

I have a few questions regarding 3 saddle brass vintage bridges...

...some makers tout stainless, some chrome, some nickel.

...some styles, the saddles contact each other on the side. Some don't. One manufacturer touts saddles that tightly contact each other. My original Fender bridge doesn't contact at all.

There also seems to be a pretty big swing in prices for what looks like very similiar parts. $25-$60?

I know the bridge issue is a much discussed topic. But, until I'm in the market, I don't really suck all that info in.

Thanks...I'm puttin' together my first parts Tele (Esquire actually) and don't mind huntin' around for each component. I know there's package parts, Callaham for example, but I think I'm diggin' the hunt. I'm builiding an Esquire, not necessarily historically accurate. I'm seeking a vintage style 3 saddle brass...entertaining the idea of compensated.

If anyone has a used unit for sale...I'm interested.

Thanks,
Lingo

Angela's sells the stock NOS no-serial bridgeplate for $12, mounting screws, intonation length screws and springs, height adjustment tools etc. as separate parts. The neckplate and bridge mounting screws are available in both slotted and phillips varieties. He also sells the complete '52RI bridge as a complete unit. You can also get the brass and threaded steel US reissue barrels.

You can also buy, at present, both 52RI and Nocaster clean or relic bridge pickups for $42 and $59 respectively.

No affiliation, except I like his parts/service. Fine if you want to pick stuff yourself from the cattledog, not so good if you want to ask opinions or wheel'n'deal.
