neck differences - standard/deluxe

I am hoping this will apply to teles and strats. I have an american deluxe of each and want to add a 2nd to change pickups in and have the same feel but a little different feel.

Are the necks of the American standards the same as the American deluxes?

If not - what are the differences? I looked on Afender.com but couldn;t find much.

The simplified version

I have a tele and a strat that happen to both be Am. Deluxe models.

I want to get an additional guitar of each style as a backup/new flavor.

IS the neck on the American standard version of tele identical to the neck on the American Deluxe version or is Fender doing something special to the deluxe?

better? worse? did I help at all?
