52 reissue needs a repaint

Hi guys,

My first post here so forgive me if this has been covered before.

I have a 1991 52 reissue that needs a repaint as the original owner was a bit careless. There are some major issues here, not just a ding or two.

I remember seeing a bunch of names come up for some folks who do this kind of work when I was lurking here many months ago. I appreciate any help from you all.

It is a sweet guitar as it sits right next to me as we speak, plugged into my Fender Deluxe Reissue. Probably the nicest combo of guitar and amp that I have experienced in many years of playing.

Thanks bros,
Rob

Why does it need to be repainted?

I'm not sure if I'd want to refinish any guitar that I liked a lot. Once a guitar is the way I like it, I try not to change anything on it at all. Other than restringing it once in a while.

Could we see pics? ()

Mark Jenny- www.MJTele.com is probably the best man for the job if you want a relic job done in Nitro (but it doesn't sound like you want a relic...)

If you want a poly finish you'd probably want to go with Roxy. I believe their website is www.Roxyguitarfinish.com.

I'm sure theres many others, and I know theres many others... I just can't think of them right now.

What sort of finish does it have .......... polyurethane? Is polyurethane a bear to strip like the polyester used on MIM Fenders?

Like "they" say somewhere else, "This thread is useless without pictures." I think it would have to be a real basket case on the border of unplayability for me to consider selling it.

You might be able to move it to somebody that wants to make the move into relicdom and take the $$$$ and buy one that has the look you like.

Or maybe not.
