Totally Weird 67 questions.
So, long story short, I met this fella thorugh work, and though i have almost no experience, he wants me to sell his '67 tele for him, for a 10% commission. Awesome! I say, "I bet you could get 6 grand for it!" Then last night I see it.
Stripped and refinished "natural" (and poorly, I might add) GOuged out for a neck humbucker no nut (except for the one this dude was in the process of installing) All wires cut no jack/cup thingy "I have the pickguard, somewhere..." Mangled/partially painted case and saddles that seemed wierd, did they use 6 barrel saddles in those days? On the upside, the neck is really nice, and in good condition, for a 40 year old instrument, the bridge pickup and plate seem to be original. I don't know doodoo about checking pots, but the caps sure look old. The guy still thinks he can sell it for around $4K. 1) Is he nuts? 2) Am I nuts for dealing with this guy?

That's what I'm thinking, I really don't want this strange guy angry with me for his guitar's misfortune. IN his defense, he got the guitar in this condition, except it had a good nut, and the wires were connected. (aka, it worked)

If he could have someone competent restore it first, it may be a good deal for you. As it is, sold in pieces may be the best way to go.

The neck is probably worth more than the whole complete guitar.
I would tell him if it was all original I could sell it for ya but the way it is there is too much wrong.
