Soul / Stax etc...
I watched some of it the other night, it's going to be on again this weekend, I plan to tape it then.
It was pretty good, Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn, Booker T, Al Green ( though he was really on Hi Records!) , Carla Thomas, Issac Hayes and lot's of others. I just read a very good book all about Stax, it's a crime what CBS and UP bank did to cause them to go bankrupt! No telling where they would have gone, in the 70's Memphis TN was the 3rd largest recording industry in the USA! Check out the show for a glimpse of how good the performers are/were. |

"Play It Steve"
YEOOW!!!
Hot lead work from Steve on "Green Onions". Playing his Signature Peavey, and a red knob The Twin. Duck Dunn played a maple neck P. looked like it was a 1 1/2" width. Gotta love Booker T Jones on the B3. |

From what I just read at the Soulsville w/s:
http://www.soulsvilleusa.com/2_3-staxExplodes.cfm it was a "crime" what Stax did to itself. Anyway I can't find a listing for Soul Comes Home for the San Francisco Bay Area. KQED et al. Have local PBS stations broadcast SCH for current pledge drives? Can anyone direct me? Thanks, Mik
