Jeff Beck summer fall tour

(Tele content: the man has a major Tele history!)

From the Pierce/Bill Kirchen thread, it was posted that Jeff Beck is on tour in Sept (LA, Oakland...)

He had a great line up on a brief US tour last spring:

Pino Palladino Bass
Vinnie Colaiuta Drums
Jason Rebello Keyboards
Beth Hart Vocals

I saw on Vinnie Colaiuta's website that he's touring with with Jeff Beck in Sept WOW! and if the others are too WOW squared!

I'm gonna miss it!

Are you traveling to LA from Seattle? If so, I think you might be better off seeing JB at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara! Santa Barbara's Arlington Theater is a very small and cozy venue compared to the Greek, and I just checked ticketmaster and decent seats can still be had. Better still, attend both shows! I'll probably go to the Santa Barbara show.

A few weeks ago, i was sitting down with my guitar on my lap blazing away in the headphones of my pod xt thinking i could play the guitar, dreaming of guitar godliness like we all do.
The phone rings, and the singer of my previous band says " hello Kee", fancy some free tickets to watch Buddy guy? By the way, he's warming up for Jeff Beck. "Are you fecking serious" i replied in disbelief, "yes, be ready in an hour and i'll pick you up" he says. Well, what a night. First Buddy comes right into the audience and stands next to me playing the guitar, with a bald head, then Jeff comes on with his four marshall heads and cabs and plays the kind of guitar music i could only dream about. The band were amazing, and i'm just watching thinking man, why am i even bothering. The following night, the phone goes again asking if i want 2 tickets to see the darkness.
Forgive me for thinking they were kind of .......crap?
But after seeing Jeff play, they were really up against it.
Everything went down at the liverpool summer pops. I even forgave them for charging £3 for a warm can of beer, i enjoyed myself so much.
Now that's a result, lol.

Saw Buddy and Jeff in Cologne/Germany on 2006/07/16.
They both were great. But to me Buddy was the draw of the evening.
Jeff's act was a bit sloppy.
BTW one week later, 07/23, the Stones were in Cologne. I saw them more than a dozen times in the last 40 years. And YES! On this evening they were the greatest R&R Band in the world. Absolutely stunning.

I just wish Buddy would play songs from start to finish without messing about immitating other guitarists, talking to the audience mid-song and mixing songs together. The only one song he did poperly like this was spell-binding.It was a soulful blues-ballad off his new cd.Shame he wasn't playing his Tele.I still love him though.

Not to worry... The Greek is also a great Venue . It's bigger than the Arlington, bit is still a nice outdoor venue. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house at the Greek.

Thanks for the heads up. I knew he was doing the left coast, but he's gonna be in NJ on 9/11. Whoo-hoo!! Haven't seen him since There And Back at the Spectrum in Philly in '81.
