I don't dislike any of those choices. If the color scheme of the guitar works overall, it's all good!

I wouldn't put a black guard on a white guitar, nor would I put a mint guard on a 'burst because to me those wouldn't be good matches IMHO. But I would put a mint guard on a white guitar or a black guard on a blond guitar - of course... or tortoiseshell on a 'burst.

I wouldn't be too crazy about graphics overall but 0le Fuzzy's outlaw guard and that paisley are pretty sweet!!

I have really grown to dislike white pearloid/MOTS. I tolerate it on my Thinline because it's vintage, it's what's always been on there, and I can't imgine nything wlse on that guitar. But I'm not rushing out to put it on anything else. I've removed it from other guitars that previously sported pearloid.

If I had to choose something on this poll, then I'd choose "graphic", but I suuppose there could be a cool use of that. I just can't think of a cool use right now

What I meant was a black pearloid. I certainly would not want leather but as most others have stated, it is according to the guitar. My avitar is my 99 Tele Deluxe. It had Tortose binding so anything but a tortose guard looks, stupid. On the other hand I have a 98 Tele Deluxe (three pup version) that is trasparent red and it has cream binding with matching pearloid guard. looks cool on that guitar.

If the guitar is great, I really don't care. I'm much more concerned with whats coming out of the guitar than the cosmetics of the instrument. I like white and I like black and tortoise, but when I am playing, I could care less.
