If you want a cheap great telecaster...

...get a London City Comet! Incredible guitars for a very low price.

Which cheap, non-Fender but good guitars would you recommend? I've found Squier Affinity Telecaster playing and sounding particularily well.

I found only one link on my search. Of course, it was in German. But as far as the pictures go, it looks pretty darn cool

They are Chinese and made in the Farida factory. Farida is one of those eastern manufacturers that make pretty good guitars (copies) for really cheap.

I don't know whether they are available in the USA or not. Those guitars are incredible, check out the reviews on Harmony Central. Not only they sound like a real telecasters (other copycats just sound a little bit different, this sounds dead on), they look very nice and they play nice, although the neck differs a little from other telecasters (pretty thin and wide, like an Ibanez). I'll upload some sounds and pictures of mine soon.
They also had a limited edition of thinline telecasters. Looked lovely too!

Another nice mark: J&D or Jack & Danny. Their thinline telecaster is awesome, and again, verrrry cheap.

played them. the company is dutch owend. Most of them are pretty good. J&D is also good but thats the home brand of one of germany's largest (and also europe) music store's. They are verry good. collins (the second big music store in germany and the EU) is also terrfic. Harley benton (also german home brand of thomann) is also great bang for the buck.
