Advice with mods on MIM std
Here is what I have so far:
White MIM 2004 STD Body Allparts Vintage FAT Nitro neck Black guard routed for bucker Kluson brand tuners I am looking to use higher end parts when possible - I want to make this a superb player. I need a bridge and pups... What is a good single bridge - bucker neck combo? (my original thoughts were duncan Donahue bridge and Duncan '59 bucker neck) What is the best vintage style bridge that will keep good intonation? (I still have the MIM std bridge that came with it originally, but would like to go vintage...) Is there a wiring diagram someone can point me to that will show 4-way switching (bridge, bridge and neck bucker, bridge and neck single tap, neck bucker)? My truss adjustment is in the neck heel - do I need to cut an access hole in my body, and if so, does anyone have a picture of this on a mim? Thanks! |

Don't know why you would need to see the access cut on a MIM. This is not a MIM. This is what you need ............. otherwise you'll have to remove the neck to adjust the truss rod.

I had to make the cut in this Warmoth body:
![]() I think I made it about 5/8" wide, because that's about what a GR Guitars Tele body's was. I marked the top, and the neck pocket (on masking tape), to make the cut straight, and used a fret saw to cut the sides (to make it even) and removed the center with Brookstone wood carving tools. There's probably a better way to do it, but that's all I could come up with. Pete |
