Decent Copy-Cat Imports?
I just bought a Peavey Generation EXP (Telecaster copy in Candy Red). It's a blast!

I've got a JB Player tele in natural, and it's one of my favorite $100 guitars. I've bonded with it so completely that I felt obliged to write this loving review of it on HarmonyCentral...mine's the one at the bottom by "BravoVictor"

I haven't played these, but there's a company in Thailand making PRS copies and several others under the names Ricon, Atlas, and others. They appear to be handmade and are absolutely stunning. Can they play in tune? I don't know! www.guitarandpickup.com warning: slow load.

Wow..they are stunning..check out the mother of pearl butterfly on the 'Special Tornado' SG copy.
You never know where the next wave of '80s MIJ' type guitars, i.e. high build quality, low price, will come from. I don't see any reviews for these products on HC yet... |

That Agile ash Tele looks very interesting. Nelsonic made a decent Tele style a while back but they are no longer available. There were indications that it may have been made in the same Korean factory that makes the Fender Lite Ash. These were only $149 shipped to your door.

I've always kind on wondered what kind of neck I'd end up with if I bought an Agile version of a Tele. For a while there, the Agile Les Paul copies were really popular. After they started changing the body shape to avoid problems with Gibson, they seemed to lose some popularity. But there were a lot of happy Agile users. Their Tele knockoffs might be decent.

Yeah that's a tough one. I keep looking at the Agile type guitars. But the trade-off seems to be a "name" versus specs. The new Agile has everything a boy could want in terms of quality components, but if I can get a used Fender for the same money... what's the point? They sure do look purty though.

$400 seems a little high to pay for an Agile. Even though it has a trem, it still seem high to me. If I'm buying a cheap import, I'd consider one of these Agiles instead.

Some Squires are good.
I have a Korean double fat Tele for $299 (closeout). It's RED! Really red! And feels like a MIJ. Coil-splitter too. Here's a blue one: http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAM...-Tele-D-lg.jpg |
