Another Alternative...

...well, not for a guitar! Just a different kinda wood.

That has to have one aggresive sound.

I think that one looks cool!

There is one guy selling them on eBay all the time. Claims to have an original stock made at the same time as the Harley Strat, and his ads has said "Hurry, only a few left" for half a year now. Those aren't riveted, though. That definitely added a cool industrial look.

Now the question is: Why doesn't anyone make a aluminum neck and fretboard too?

Oh, and how to you double bind it???

Geir :)

RE: Aluminum neck/board

If you get the chance, play a "Travis Bean". Made back in the 70's, Aluminum neck-thru, mahogany wings, really cool, big with odd-ball collectors now. Also in the late 70's, Kramer made guitars and basses with aluminum neck-thru construction. I had a bean briefly about 10 or 12 years ago. Unique tone for sure, not somthing you want to play in cold weather, always pulled sharp somthing crazy during quick temperature drops. Not to mention having to grab a metal neck that rode to the gig in an equipment truck in freezing weather. Ouch.
