Roy Buchanan Tribute Bands, Got~Great News~~Read~Me!
Just wanted to update the TDPRI, folks on “My new Roy Buchanan Tribute”, Buck Cannon.
Our recent first official gig at a Blues festival type outdoor setting for a local Blues DJ www.wagmanblues.com. Membership drive / Blues Radio station's supporter / sponser appreciation PARTY… I was worried all week prior "Stressed" to be honest!!! This was a make it or break it atmosphere! I wanted to make it…But we really needed a prayer or two! & believe me I was sending up a few myself. Check this, nerve~racker', we were “billed” and “advertised” as **LA Hottest New Blues Band!** That was SCARRY as all get out... For a new band who has only rehearsed twice and preformed live once prior in a small setting! **Also on this bill was, Johnny Tucker, Melvin Eddy, Guitar Shorty’s Back up Bands players, Smokey Wilson’s players, & a host of red hot pickers and singers from or large pool of blues musicians here in Long Beach California. The Party's Vip list consisted of Blues magazine owners, staff writers and photographers, Club owners, labels, record companies, promoters... etc... You name it. We opened up the show with Roys, After Hours, CC Ryder, Hey Joe, Drowning On Dry Land, and we played again during primetime., Pete’s Blues, Green Onions & I’m Evil, and made up a Roy`style version of Texas-Flood. Both sets were totally unbelievable.. the music felt like it was just channeling through all of us! (really!) seemed Effortless, not only was it fun but it was really working some mojo! The crowd was going nuts! Everyone really loved it, We won over everyone. We were the hit of the party! Many doors were opened for us…Heres some of the compliments from the VIP’s, They were incredibly nice words to hear! . “Best Roy Buchanan I’ve heard since Roy” “Best Guitar playing I’ve heard in 12 years” “If I closed my eyes it felt like Roy was onstage” There was lot’s of great things being said. I thank God!!!! and Roy too! IMHO… I felt like I was just a transmitter for, "Station Roy"! one of those great musicial moments fer'me! DM PS. Looks like Buck Cannon is on its way now…whoosh… that was scary folks! |

It's not a Cannon supply company, it's Verisign returning a bunch of hits on other sites that it thinks might be close. As long as you still have the domain registered, you're okay.
That's really, really, really cool about the gig! Keep us updated on how things keep coming together. |
