If at first you don't succeed

Following on from yesterday I think this photo is an improvement over the others I posted. I practised a bit more today. So, here she is again, my tele... hope you like.

Please click on it for a sharp version. Apologies if the image is too big, I couldn't see a size limit.

The pic looks great. Nice setup and good quality. Did you do the finish your self and if so how did you get that beautiful color?

Thanks! I think it would have been what they call Off White Blonde. The guitar is ten years old and looks to have yellowed a bit. Before I changed the guard from white to black I was worried it would be too light and wouldn't look right but I was pleasantly surprised, I think it does a fair approximation of a butterscotchish blackguard, the black certainly does not look out of place. Of course being an MIJ the finish is polyurethane so it will never age like the real thing or look the same less than a few feet away, but it will do me for a while.

Just for you here is another photo which hopefully shows the colour as accurately as possible (at least on my screen ). Sadly it came out a bit grainy. I've gone back over the file and the processing and haven't worked out why although I'm still a novice with converting RAW files in Photoshop. I have always used third party camera specific software to do it and might have to go back owing to the problems of yesterday and today. Anyway, here it is again...

Yes they are, the cutting edge intone twang set. I was quite systematic when I fitted them to test if the aluminium actually made a discernable difference in tone. I have to confess to being a little dubious (sorry Dale). I am pleased to say that the aluminium really does sound brighter. My guitar, I think, has a basswood body. I had to turn the treble up more than usual to get the bass strings sounding right, which I attributed to the basswood, but now I can turn it back down a bit again. I like them a lot. It goes without saying that the intonation is vastly improved with them in place. I use a Peterson Strobostomp and believe me there is a big change for the better in that department.

Nope, just a bog standard MIJ finish (I'm presuming) and a helping hand from Old Father Time. That'll be the same guy who is also presently sprinkling my head with grey 'highlights' I believe .

Thank you for your kind words.

Awesome pics...I am not too fond of the reflections in the second pic but in general I'd say that those are some excellent photos...
