Hope this guy has a towel handy

He's getting ready to take a bath

Haven't seen a CS Collins model on E-Bay before, I was always curious how they would fare.

Yeah there was a time when i would be ready to punce on it at that price, but I picked up an MIJ version last year and am quite happy with it.

What is the body made out of? That doesn't look like ash. I like how it looks. Like the headstock too.

The current CS Albert Collins is a two piece premium ash body according to the Fender website. That one looks like it's a one piece body. $1000 off street price seems about right for a used guitar in that price range.

You can get those new for $2370 so that was a fair price used.

Technically no, because there's no signature on the headstock, but I picked this one up on E-Bay for $649.00

It's a real nice guitar, two piece ash, 7.25 pounds, I like it a lot. It still has the original pups though I did change the pots and switch in anticipation of swapping the pups someday soon. I like the fact that it does not have a signature on the headstock.

I think the grain is better and I know the workmanship is better.

I must respectfully disagree about the grain. The Custom Version on Ebay appears to be a one piece body. The MIJ version appears to be a two piece with a bad grain match on the front. I've seen a lot or MIJ Teles with bad grain matching. Here's the CS version

I saw that model listed on the Ishibashi site a while back. I don't remember the exact price at the time. I calculated the exchange rate, I remember it being a lot more than $649.00 with shipping though. You got a great deal Bones (IMHO). I'd be curious to find out what kind of pickups the Japanese model has since they are most likely not the same CS model pickups (obviously). As far as the grain matching on the two piece body, I've seen a lot worse, for a lot more money. Unfortunately, at the moment even $649.00 is out of the price range.
