Yeehaaa! Thank God I'm a Country Boy!

See what happens when I hang around here too much?! I joined a country band last night. The other guitarist, singer wife and drummer husband are monster players and they say the bass player (who I haven't met) is great too.

I spent the evening at their place having an informal jam, and I was thinking - these people are whole levels of magnitude above my ability. They asked me if I wanted to join and I said you're kidding! They said no, they felt it all sounded good. Their material is way country bar band with a dollop of blues and I didn't hear anything I didn't like.

For once I joined a band where I don't need nothing - got my Teles, got my Vibrolux.

My only hesitation was the hats - but they done tol' me I can wear the Hos from Bonanza hat!

Time to brush up on my chicken-pickin'!

Maybe they'll let you do the Bobby Bare/Jerry Reed/Conway Twitty Trucker Ball Cap look.

Or maybe not.

Have fun

I think in Conway's case that's a golf cap!

Congrats on the gig! Sounds fun. As much as I love the band's I'm in, playing in a regular country/rock kind of outfit with a trap drummer would be a treat.

Good on you brother May the TWANG be with you.

I'v been searching for a good country band for around 5 years. They just dont exist here in England. The few good ones I'v seen have been together for years. I guess its Oasis or nothing for me

Well done!
