I emailed the seller asking why it had a Fender Stratocaster logo on it when it was obviously a copy of a Telecaster. Just to see what sort of reply I get (if any). :P

The ChiComs do some things well ........... like building power tools........... However their guitar building leaves a lot to be desired.

Man............. look at that f-hole.

Obviously this is a POS but I looked at his 100% feedback. I'd never buy one but lots of people have, and some of the Gibbies look OK at the price (including Shipping). Surely this is too elaborate to be a complete con, again with at least this exception!! Basically they avoid Ebay fees by charging extortionate shipping, and no-one pays much for the guitars.

Now obviously the Fenders with their twelfth fret markers are a dead giveaway as fakes (at least to us on this site), but I can believe a newbie looking for a Paul would be tempted into thinking this was real! I'm sure a Gibson afficianado will say the MOTS inserts aren't quite right but I wouldn't know!

Not suggesting anyone go out and buy one but MiC guitars are getting better and better . . . .

Well I got a PM back in very broken English telling me they'd send me the correct logo with the guitar if I bought it.

Ok

1) Stratocaster on the neck
2) The F-hole is all wrong
3) Very interesting Callaham replica AS replacement bridge
4) That is an after market body...black back

It would make a nice throw down or something to give your kids. Might be work 100 bucks and change.

It's one of those auctions where the shipping is over $200.

There's so much counterfeit junk coming from China right now that I wouldn't touch anything being Ebayed from there. And it's not even a good counterfeit either. That huge F hole, and the notched pickguard to go around it, are almost disturbing to look at.

My favourite part is the $10 mandatory insurance on a 9.99 guitar. I wish I was the insurance company who got that business.

I've heard that Les Pauls are heavy ............... but the shipping on this Fender Stratocaster is $258 ............. Shipping on one of their Les Pauls is $378...........or course, this Fender Stratocaster is a semi-hollow.

That looks pretty good, in comparison, what's wrong with this guitar ?
Hmmmmm...
I don't know how much shipping is on this, but be sure to get the optional insurance. It would be a shame to have anything happen to this baby while in transit.

You have to give them credit. At least the control plate looks pretty good :)

I'm not sure what the Fender "Super Bullets" decal is doing on the pickguard, though.

I didn't see where the guy said it was a Fender. Just a "Telecaster Style". There's nothing wrong with that. It's when they advertise as the real thing and try to get $3-500 for it. Last week someone brought a Chineese Les Paul in that he had paid $400 for on Ebay thinking he was getting great deal on a Gibson. The store owner gave him $200 for it so he could hang it up above the cash register for everyone to see and hold. It is truely a piece of junk.

So the bogus Fender decal on the heastock and the bogus Fender sticker on the pickguard are OK, as long as the seller doesn't actually mention them in the text?

By the way, check that pickguard sticker. Instead of identifying the model, it identifies the strings? Or is that the new Fender Super Bullets model?
