Great video!
I loved it all the way - playing was great, as was Lonnie's voice. Too bad that Roy's sound was so thin and weak compared with the others with big sounds...
I'd love to have been there!

Saw a Lonnie Mack / Albert Collins show at Toad's Place about 15 or so years ago. Both sets were killer. Lonnie played thru a Roland JC amp, I think. AC had his Quad Reverb set to "stun".
One of my fave tunes to start off with is "Backstroke". It ain't easy to sound like Albert, especially if you don't play like he does (weird tunings and all), but I try... |

It's sounded like Albert Collins and Lonnie Mack were stronger players that day anyhow, but I would have loved to hear what Roy was playing. |

Thats back when Roiy was using the Lawrence pickups and a SS roland amp.
To my ears that wasnt the real Roy. Roy using nancy and a Fender tube amp on 10 is Roys tone anything else never sounds the same to me.

Albert was the man, he played it clean and it cut to the bone.
