67 Maple Cap
My 67 Maple Cap has a very sweet tone with sparkling highs and dark lows...I'm not talkin amp stuff but the actual sound of the guitar....A solid Maple neck seems brighter but not as sweet to me....I guess that's why Maple Caps are so expensive and desirable.......don

Maple Cap
Necks on 50's Tele's were 1 piece of solid maple. In the late 50's early sixty's a rosewood finger board was put on over the maple neck. I think around 67 and 68 Fender put out a Maple neck with a seperate maple fingerboard, hence MAPLE CAP.

Thank you!
Both my Tele and Strat got one piece necks and I can´t recall playin one maple capped...maybe an eighties Strat..? The maple fretboard Teles from the seventies I´ve played had one piece necks to. So I think this is a very interesting topic. Is there another option here for me? pEr
