tele bridge/saddle comparison
I have a MIM standard with string through bridge and six saddles. I am perfectly happy with the sound (B Lawrence 280/290s)
But all the bridge talk has got me curious- what happens when you switch to a different bridge or three barrel saddle? Enough of a change to save up and try just for curiousity's sake? Or should I leave well enough alone and quit with the GAS? By the way, I don't play country and am not trying to maximize twang. I like a smoother, less treble sound. Thanks Matt

If it Ain't....
broke, don't fix it! I have found that with the 3 saddles I get more of a what I call a "Biting" sound from my Tele's, not trebbley though. If you are happy with the sound you get, leave it alone. We always seem to be on a quest for tone. Your idea of tone will be different than my idea of tone. If we all agreed on tone we would all be playing the same guitar, with the same pickups, out of the same amps, with the same cords, same strings and same picks. If you found it, stay with it. It's cheaper in the long run.
