I am a proud owner of a new Crook Custom Tele....

Just thought you folks would like to see some pictures of my new Crook Custom Tele that I had built. I ordered it February 8th, 2006....and picked it up on June 7, 2006. I ordered a Nashville tele type with the strat pickup in the middle. It essentially is identical to Brad Paisley's Esquire he played in the "Mud on The Tires" video except for the electronic differences. It has a Sonic blue back with blue paisley top with matching headstock, Kluson tuners, Callaham bridge, Voodoo bridge p/u, Voodoo strat p/u, Adder bridge..... Four way switch with push/pull tone knob to activate the strat p/u. The fouth positionon the switch runs the neck and bridge p/u in parallel to give a "fake " humbucker effect.
Check it out and let me know what you think!

I LOVE IT!

Congratulations! That looks great- definitely one of a kind...I don't think you'll run into anybody else with that same guitar.

It's beautiful, and I know it plays better than it looks.

Congrats!!

Looks great. I like the view where you can see the top against the sonic blue sides.

Looks good enough to be the last Tele you'll ever need.
How does it play, sound? What type of neck does it have?
Congrats, thanks for sharing.

that looks great except that the pointy tip above the nut...pretty much rules out (or makes more difficult) behind the nut bends that are so easy to play (and unique) on a Telecaster

As far as "sorta-Fender" headstocks go, that one really isn't too bad.

I left it all in Bill Crooks hands, I told him the sound I was looking for and he filled the task. The Voodoo in the bridges position is a special wound made to Bill's specs. It has an alder body and I chose it.

Yes. Bill suggested to do it that way. I let him take a few liberties in making the guitar. I told him I want it to sound like no other tele I have played before. It is as clean and twangy as you can get. I would definitely have him do one for me again if I ever come into some cash.

I actually like those headstocks. Crooks are definitely my second fav headstock outside of the Fender originals.

Very cool guitar. What kind of neck radius did you get? How's it play?

that's a beauty you got there !

I love Bill's work. I've had the pleasure to chat with him and he's a gem of a guy and knows SO much about teles and set ups.

You got a killer looking axe, enjoy it and twang on !

Some day, I keep telling myself, I'll have Bill build me a copy of Brad's "Buckocaster".

John
