Another dumb question

I know i ask a ton a questions around here but i dont realy know anyone real knowlegble about guitars.

I was wondering if my guitar is set up for 10 gauge strings(ernie balls) could i put 9 gauge on the G,B, & e string on the guitar without any problems. sorry for all the dumb questiond but you guys are the only ones i know/trust. Thanks much

You could do that no problem. The intonation would probably change a bit.

Maybe I'm the Dumb one ??...do you mean .009 ga. in all 3 posistions ??...or 3 different strings (G B & E) from a .009 ga.

Ya you got it the second guess was correct the 9(e), 11(B), 16 (G) gauge string of a st of nines taking the place of the e,B, & G strings from a 10 gauge.

That would be OK. There probably isn't enough of a difference to have much effect on the neck. Try it, and if there's a noticable change in the action then get back to us...or put the old strings back on.
