$20k+ and they can't spring for "supersized photos"? Unbelievable.

The description says he's got more pics -- if you've got the "$20k+" I'm sure he'll send you all the photos you want. :)

56 Tele and deluxe

Looks like a no issues guitar, unlike the earlier Blackguard era beauties, the lacquer on the '56 onward necks is and stays quite "white", shows the maple colour as it actually is...The neckshapes are really cool, not too small not too big, someone is going to get a nice little combo here...Still more bidding to come yet though. I would love to be able to afford to add this one to the family!

One thing I'm not clear on. The seller implies that he got the appraisal from the Antiques Roadshow, but the guitar and amp are shown in front of a huge stack of vintage Fender amps.

So is the seller a dealer and the photo was taken in his store, in which case he should already know the value of his Fenders?

Or was this picture taken in his house, and somehow he's remained blissfully unaware of the true value of these amps for the past half century?

Either way, I wish I'd had his address the week before he went on Antiques Roadshow.

Gotta love that stuff.
WAY outside my budget, but always fun to look at and dream.

Correct me if I'm wrong.. wouldn't a 56 have a round string tree instead of those wings?

Regardless.. she's gorgeous...

That was a new change for 56..it also was positioned closer to the nut. This is the best position for those behind-the-nut bends by the way.. :D

Clarence White's was a 56 as well...with soft V neck profile...truly a cool guitar.

It's closer on a '56 than it is on a '50-'55? Sure doesn't look like it to me... but what do I know.

This One is Spot On

I agree, this one is the real thing. Look at the placement of the decal between the butterfly and nut, the single line Klusons, bridge, white blonde color. Not one thing looks out of kilter.
Not nuts about any auction where you have to wire the cash - but it is a nice guitar and amp.

Look how white that pickguard is! Why do we try to age them?

There's really no good answer to that question....... :?

I've always loved a perfectly white guard myself.
