Teee heee .....
I have eMailed him and asked outright if it is the same one he bought from 'pinkspock' a couple of days earlier. :D
Looks like the belt sander has been busy on the back of that neck and i am i seeing something that isn't there but can i neeeeearly make out on the back of the headstock the place where the '50th anniv.' sticker was ? Could be 100% genuine though ! Couldn't resist it !! have bid £10 on it !

Good eye Hafner.....
No doubt about it, this is outright fraud. Grain patterns are like fingerprints. I too see where the 50th Anniversary sticker was. Quote:
In the original auction the seller said he preferred local pickup......... well it looks like that's what he got. The second auction began two days after the first ended. I assume the second seller doesn't intend to supply all the case candy and this COA. .......................

Bingo !
Quote from jwells393 :-
Seems this senario, where the seller claims to know nothing of guitars but somehow has the old guitar, is happening a lot on Ebay UK. What not many of them realise is that, certainly during the 50's and up until the early 60's there was a trade embargo of certain goods with the US, some kind of hangover from the war and to build up Britains post war industries. Thing is, NO Fenders would have been imported then so stories of "bought in 55 and left under a farmers bed" are just plain lies ! Yes, of course there would have been 'personal imports' and i believe Hank Marvins Strat was brought home by Cliff Richard in this way but though its hard to believe now, travelling from here to the US was a mammoth journey in those days and the US was a million miles away for people in the UK. Funny, i haven't had a reply from my eMail to him yet, the great thing is if i win it for £10 i can easily get to his hometown to pick it up ! :D

Yep, no mistaking that grain pattern as well as where the snit pulled the sticker of the headstock. Is no one honest anymore. Thats what "censored" it up for the rest of the honest guys out there.
I say we round them all up, hang them from their pebbles until they promise never to deceive anyone ever again.

Well he seems to be in the habit of lying, here's what he (stinkvole) left as feedback for the seller (pinkspock) of the (then mint!) guitar:

I don't think treating it with a belt sander can be described as "WELL LOOKED AFTER"! |

And just to add insult to injury my generous £10 bid has been knocked up to a stratospheric £51 !!!
