CurT Mangan B string can't stay in tune

I recently bought a pack of gauge 11 Flatwound Curt Mangan strings and was surprised that the strings could retain the fresh feel after 3 weeks unlike ALL the other brands i have tried. Amazing...

I tried the SIT gauge 9 strings but they didn't stay in tune after a week.

Now my problem = The B and high E string cant seem to break in even after many efforts of pulling and tugging.

Another question , how many times is the low e string required to be coiled ? With its enormous size i could only coil it 3 times..and it goes out of tune sometimes.

Dunno, I have been using Curt's 10-46's and 11-48s nickel wound in the blue packs for about a year on all my guitars and have never had any problems, they are awesome strings IMHO. Never tried the flat wounds though.

Sounds like you are putting way too many wraps (coils) on your string posts...google "installing guitar strings"...and they should be plenty of info for you....or any good owners manual will show a good install method...Never to Old to learn, has kept me young ! :)
